Copyediting and proofreading gallery text for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and revamped Mammals and Minerals halls at the South Kensington venue. Helping to ensure that copy is factually correct, clear, sensitive and inclusive, and that layouts are accurate.

Proofreading or copyediting playtexts in the Arden Shakespeare and Arden Early Modern Drama series published by Bloomsbury. Each Arden edition offers a modernised text with comprehensive commentary notes and an illustrated introduction by a leading scholar exploring the play’s critical, theatrical and historical contexts. I’ve worked on 16 titles in the series including Hamlet, Othello, All’s Well That Ends Well, The Shoemakers’ Holiday and The Alchemist.

This includes lesson plans, study guides, interactive play texts and essays for students and teachers. The work often involves formatting manuscripts, checking accessibility, reviewing metadata and building pages in a content management system as well as traditional editorial processes.

Smithers market forecasts and analysis provide credible, actionable insights into business growth, with data gained from a global network of industry experts. Proofreading is carried out directly in InDesign and copyediting, including applying styles, is done in Word.

Proofreading the University of Leeds alumni magazine, working to an in-house style guide. Content was delivered in batches to suit the university’s editorial schedule, and all proofread files were delivered before the deadline.
